Any time of the year Medellin is a wonderful place to visit but Christmas is definitely one season that everybody loves. Christmas in Colombia is a time of joy, parties, fun, fireworks and lots of lights everywhere you go and Medellin has the best Christmas lighting in the country and one of the most beautiful in the world. The best places to check out the Christmas lights are The Medellin River, Envigado’s central park and la Playa Street. It is a great experience to walk by the Medellin River because of the many vendors and activities taking place during December and January but we recommend keeping an eye on your personal belongings while at these places. Another option is to get on a chiva, a traditional bus from the region used specially during Christmas as a mobile club with live performing of local music and dancing and which takes passengers throughout the city to appreciate the many Christmas lights.
